E-Smart Video illustrate the UN's history of violations against Eritrea and its people
It has now been three years since the UN Security Council imposed sanctions against a hard-working, corruption free, and independent minded African country. Eritrea doesn’t deserve these sanctions. They were orchestrated by Ethiopia with the support of few US officials especially by the current US ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, to serve as a cover for Ethiopia’s continued refusal to implement the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission final and binding demarcation decision of 2007. As the wikileaks documents from the USUN Mission in New York and American Embassy in Ethiopia make it clear, every detail of the conspiracy was stage-managed by Ambassador Susan Rice, and others were coerced to join.
The very same monitoring Group that was set up to monitor the sanctions had now admitted that it
- "received no credible reports or evidence of assistance from Eritrea to armed opposition groups in Somalia. …"
- " has found no evidence to substantiate the allegations that one or more aircraft landed at Baidoa International Airport between 29
- “Eritrea is currently a marginal actor in Somalia, with little, if any, influence, either positive or negative, on the course of events,”
October and 3 November 2011, or that Eritrea supplied Al-Shabaab in Baidoa by air with arms and ammunition during the same period.”
We thus call on all peace-loving people of the world to raise their voices against these unjust, illegal sanctions UN Resolution 1907(2009) and 2023 (2011).
